The trend for an increasingly more interconnected society enables us to provide healthcare in a new and innovative way that is not necessarily based on the personal encounter between patient and healthcare professional. The use of digital solutions is increasing availability to patients, and the key to progress lies in the ability to develop working methods and flows for many patient groups. Digital solutions also increase opportunities to share necessary and relevant information between patient and care provider, and between different care providers. Through digitalization, patients can to a greater extent receive healthcare on a remote basis when doctors are available via chat or video, while measurement and monitoring of health data in the patient’s home can allow for more individualized healthcare. A higher degree of involvement can be achieved by giving both patients and their close relatives access to information.
Broad implementation of digitalized and available healthcare also require the healthcare authorities to adapt their legal terms and remuneration models.
